<stepDesc>Prepare DTM data The DTM data needs to be processed before contour and raster products are derived. Breaklines are classified in order to differentiate the "ramp or bridge" sections from the rest of the elevation dataset. a) Classify Breaklines as "Ramp or Bridge" The Breaklines were classified by the "DESCR" field as follows: Select by Attributes > "DESCR" = 'Bridge' b) Export the selected records to the local working File Geodatabase calling it "Bridge_2011." c) The "Bridge_2011" feature class was then compared with the existing trpRampBridge feature class in the Enterprise GIS in order to identify new features. Updates from the 2011 Elevation Dataset were distinguished using a Simple "Select by Location" SQL Query. Select by Location > - Select Features From: Bridge - Source Layer: trpRampBridge - Spatial Selection Method: Target layer (s) features intersect the source layer feature. Once the intersecting features were identified, the selection was reversed in order to identify the updated features. Once identified, the features were exported to the local File Geodatabase as "Bridge_Updates_2011" feature class. *Note - This feature is a polyline dataset where as the trpRampBridge feature class is a polygon dataset. Using the recently exported feature, the trpRampBridge feature class was updating via manual digitizing. Litterally, every feature update was examined and polygons were created accordingly. These revised trpRampBridge feature class is later used for differentiating the "Ramp or Bridge" sections from the rest of the elevation data.</stepDesc>

The pyramids first have to be erased then rebuilt in order for the raster to display correctly. With the nearest neighbour sampling method, the no-data areas surrounding the dataset is being taken into consideration. When rebuilding the pyramids, the "Cubic" resampling method is preferred and will be used. a) Right-click the raster layer (elvGroundElevation2011) > Build Pyramids > Environments b) Expand the "Raster Processing" environment setting and change the the pyramid level setting to 0. Make sure the 'Build Pyramids" check box is selected.
