Contains footprints of buildings over in York Region. This data was originally derived from 2015 orthophotography and is updated annually, based on current year orthoimagery, to reflect additions, modifications and deletions.<\/SPAN><\/P>

The following rules are applied to data updates:<\/SPAN><\/P>

  • Building shape is determined by the roofline visible on the orthophotography, and hence, may not perfectly reflect the footprint as it appears on the ground<\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI>

  • Only buildings of a permanent or semi-permanent nature are captured<\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI>

  • Buildings must be greater than 10 sq. metres to be included <\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI>

  • Where 2 or more buildings are joined directly no attemplt is made to determine the extent of individual units.<\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI>

  • Buildings under construction are included if the foundation is complete and the building shape can be determined.<\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI>

  • Deleted footprints remain in the feature class for historical purposes<\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI><\/UL>

    While there is an attempt to reflect changes in buildings such as full tear-down and replacement of properties vs exising building additions, this is often difficult to asertain through orthophotography. In the event of a building tear-down and replacement with new buildings, the orignal building will be 'Deleted' and new building footprint(s) captured with new IDs. In the event of an existing structure extension, the existing ID will remain and a modification year will be provided.<\/SPAN><\/P>
